More Summer Play

We’ve been loving the warm weather.  Outside play is the best, but so is a little inside play during naptime to cool off.  Here’s some things we’ve been up to

Dough Painting

{I had some dough that was expired and wouldn’t rise.  So naturally we decided to paint on it.  The bumps provided a new dimension and texture to painting.  You loved it

Colored Ice Blocks

The perfect reprieve from a nice day is playing with ice right?  We froze water in all shapes, sizes and colors.  Charlotte, I LOVED watching you handle the ice with intrigue.  Lyla, you were ALL about dumping and organizing.  LOL

Weather Experiment

We recreated rain using shaving cream (the clouds) and food coloring.  It was so fun to watch you dump the food coloring and wait patiently (kind of) for the color to break through the cloud.  You kept saying “here it comes!!”.  I think any activity with you dumping food coloring is a big hit anyway.

Large-Scale Painting

Thanks to Aunt Lorie for the plastic sheeting we were able to REALLY put our whole selves into painting.  HaHa.  You definitely prefer painting with your feet as opposed to your hands so this was a big hit.  Charlotte, You wanted nothing to do with this activity and instead playing on the slide (your fav)

Ocean Sensory Bin

We did ANOTHER ocean sensory bin because you love the ocean right now and we are gearing up for Hawaii.  This one was made of oats and jello.  This made for lots of exploring and mess!  We left it up for a long time because it was just SO fun.

You had a go when you work up Charlotte!  You loved the contrast between the oats and jello and would let the oats run through your hands and then poke the jello.  You also made the animals stuck in the jello.  It was so fun watching you explore.  Of course you had to jump right in too
