Dear Charlotte, this really is my favorite stage with you so far. It really is. You are just so cute! Cute and playful and interactive and sweet and loveable and basially perfect. Except for a sleepless night and good whine fest here and there. You amazing me every day. How do you understand so much? How are you so easy? How are you so darling??? Sometimes I worry that I miss appreciating how easy and wonderful you are because even easy times two can make things hard. I try to slow down and treasure every squeeze, every goofy smile, every glimpse of you in 10 years...just everything. Even your smell and your blonde-tipped hair as it curls around the bottom of your neck. Even you pouty lips and sweet "mamas". Oh and those big brown eyes and the way you're almost always down for anything.
-You love music and will dance away. You will spin until you're drunk with dizzy and will have to plop down.
-You've become the best little helper. You'll follow small tasks and take it upon yourself to deliver Dad and I our phones no matter what. Even if we're in the shower :/
-You are STILL nursing you spoiled child. When I get out the goods you almost always give me a kiss. Well played.
-You say "Oh ooooooh" for out and open
-You know the word Bum and will slap it if we say it. LOL
-You have a weird interest in DVDs. you just want to look at them and ponder them. I guess the shininess
-Another big helper thing you do is unload the filing cabinet one peice of mail at a time
-If you're reaching for some kind of food it's never good enough just to have one. You will literally use every didget to grab food
-You got your 1st set of molars
-You've discovered the carseat and want to carry around your baby in it all day. The dang baby always slides out and you get SO mad
-Unlike your sisiter, you are a morning person! You're so happy when you wake up and take no adjustment. You play and chat and smile all morning long
-You also say diaper and bye
-If we sing the clean-up song you will get right to cleaning up!
-I say this every month but you are the best little mommy. You will push that baby in her stroller for hours!
-You had your first pony tail on 08/03! It was the cutest little sprocket I've ever seen!!
-You use both hands to beg using this beckoning motion. It cracks me up
Dear Lyla, not only is time illusive but it's deceptive! It seems that one moment you're still my little toddler who needs a lot and is sweet and innocent, and then the next moment it seems that you're the most mature and independent child on the planet! I get glimpses of the you getting on the school bus for the first time or playing in your first sporting event and I instantly tear up. It's happening now. For some reason I have the hardest time imagining letting go of the baby you. I guess because you're just that special. I can't imagine asking or trying to create a more perfect being. What a gift. It's wrapped up in the most beautiful white hair and blue eyes, and spirt that never quits, and a zeal for life that can't be bought. Your excitment and joy is infectious and is the best kind of medicine for mom. Thank you for always being so fun. For showing me how to really appreciate life, for being silly, for always listening and chatting with me, for being you.
-I can't remember if I already wrote about the great "BUM in your face" moment at BYU. Dad was BYU apparel shopping and had been gone forever. I was entertaining you both in the commons area and it was pretty hectic. Charlotte had pooped and you had had a little dribble accident when we went potty so you were bare under your dress. I was getting annoyed at just how long dad had been gone when you ran into the center of that big open room in the BYU Student Center when you pulled up your dress and yelled "bum in your face!!!" as loud as you could to all the students. Grumpiness cured.
-You always rocked a good pretend phone call but now you switch between call waiting!!! LOL. It's the funniest thing ever to watch
-You're also into checking the time on your fake watch
-You've added the word "Marvelous" to your reportoire. Where do you get these words?
-You have the words biggest ears. If we're discussing birthday gifts or what have you, I'll be sure to talk in code and quietly. but somehow you ALWAYS hear and undestand. One day you even said "I have BIG ears!" LOL
-Speaking of birthdays...they're your new favorite thing and ask almost everyday when it's yours. You love celebrating and balloons. You gave me both on my birthday and it made me cry to see just how happy you were
-You are still a very sweet sister and look out for Char. If you get some great toy or food you instantly ask for one for Char. You guys play more and more...that's not to say there's not fighting going on though. Somedays I feel less like mom and more like referee!
-You've definately become aware of yelling and can do some major defenening screaming. IT's pretty rare and usually when you're over tired but there's been some times i'm certain you've caused me to go deaf!!
-You love summer and playing outside. It makes us all happy.
