Comedy of Errors

There are days when everything seems to go wrong.  Just when you think it wasn’t meant to be and plan to go home, the reward for your errors reveals itself and is worthy of all the troubles.  We had planned to go on a little outing with grandma.  After much back and forth we decided to head up Cedar Mountain.  Everything seemed to go wrong as things were forgotten, we had to get gas, kids needed to potty and eat at several different places.  FINALLY daylight was burning and we made it out of town.  Not far up the road we saw that the canyon was closed.  Forgot about that.  SO we decided to stop at the little waterfall just up the road.  WINDY.  Very WINDY.  Finally we just decided to play at the Canyon park.  We always go to the west side but for some random reason we decided to go the east side where there are no playgrounds.  We ate, walked around AND then discovered the best hidden gem in cedar city!  A SWIMMING HOLE! We took the steep trek down to Coal Creek River just hoping to put our feet in..but instead we found all sorts of people swimming in a dammed up swimming hole.  The rock even made a slide.  We spent the whole afternoon digging in the bank, wading in the river and swimming!  We had no suits, we had no towels, but we didn’t care because it was hot and the water was just right.  Lyla, you were so brave and went down the slide and swam around with me.  Charlotte, you were the funniest little cutie there ever were.  You kept doing this thing were you would dunk your bum in the water over and over.  It was HILARIOUS.  It’s like you were just coolin off your bum.  You would laugh and we would laugh.  You too were brave; a little TOO brave and kept trying to go for a swim on your own! This day was a highlight of the summer for me.
