This day we were sort of hung over from the long day a Lanaikai and felt a little crispy fried. So the perfect solution was to spend the day at the pool! Our condo had a really nice pool and hot tub. So we spend the morning swimming, which Lyla absolutely loved it. We met a family with 9 kids at the pool who were from Logan. What are the odds? After a nap for Lottie we went to the Dole Plantation with Grandma, Zach & Olya, and Melissa. How FUN! The dole whips (pineapple sorbet) didn’t disappoint. After that we took the Dole Train around the plantation and learned all about pineapple. I learned that it’s not a domestic plant and that it grows in little bushes. We also learned about cocoa, mangos and other exotic fruits and plants. I loved taking you two and the train. Lyla got so excited every time the train blew its horn. After we walked around the farm. On the drive home we stopped at this spot along the shoreline where turtles come to sunbathe in the evenings. Every night volunteers come to rope off the turtles so that people can observe them without harming them. It was so amazing you watch your faces as we approached these HUGE turtles and watched them sleep just arm’s length from us. Lyla even got a little scared because we were so close and they were so big. That evening we had a BBG at our place We had fish and teriyaki burgers and swam with glow sticks! Charlotte discovered she likes Mahi Mahi!
