Music Class

143144145

Dear Lyla, every Tuesday we go to music class, at the place where we go to dance.  Your friend Gracie’s mom invited us to join this really fun group of moms and toddlers who get together each week to sing songs and play instruments.  Of all the little activities we do each week, this is by far my favorite, because the focus is all on you.  It isn’t glorified mommy socialization or a distraction tactic.  It’s genuinely intended to teach you something while bonding with you.  We sit in a circle, and you sit on my lap the whole time (except for the occasional meet and greets).  We start by singing hello and each child’s name is spoken.  Then, we just sing songs and do the actions the whole time.  If we sing the frog song, the leader gets out the stuffed frog to say hello, it we sing roll the ball song, the leader passes out a bucket of balls to roll back and forth.  We bought this little musical instrument packets that has sticks, shakers, bells and a harmonica.  We use our instruments for many of the songs as well.  When the time is over, you get a treat and we sing goodbye to each child.  I just love going with you each week and Lottie loves chewing on the instruments Smile

*these pics aren’t so great but I was trying to snap them without distracting anyone*
