A Day at Yankee

We spent one lovely Sunday afternoon at Yankee Meadow.  It was a perfect way to spend the day.  We don’t get much sleeping trying to camp so day camping is the perfect compromise.  We brought our chairs and had a picnic, and then went for a little nature walk.  You both loved throwing rocks into the stream.  Lyla got a kick out of the little Beaver Dam that had been built across the stream.  You both were so sweet to pick me flowers along the way.  When we got on top we played Squirrel, a game I used to play when I was little.  We pretend to be squirrels collecting our food for the winter.  We used bark as plates and collect all types of food for the long winter.  We had so much fun!  I just love doing traditions with you two!  After that we collected a little box full of all sorts of treasures; pine cones, pine needles and rocks to take home for another rainy day of fun.
