Lyla and Lottie, we had a great Easter weekend, celebrating the Resurrection and life. I definitely struggle with balancing the spiritual aspects of holidays with the commercial aspects. We made a point to tell you about the purpose of Easter in kid terms and tried to emphasize the importance of Christ. I think next year we will do gifts on Saturday and leave Sunday to worship. I’m learning. Anyway, the night before Easter we planted jelly beans in the back yard and the next morning they grew into Lollipops! (thank you Pinterest). Lyla you got the biggest kick out of this. I was shocked but the next morning you remembered to check on them without us saying anything. You SQUEALED when you saw them. Lottie just continued to eat the jelly beans on the grass. LOL
The Easter Bunny also left bunny tracks all the way to your prizes! Lyla, you got so excited and went right to picking them up and following them to your giant Mickey and Minnie baskets! You also got some pots to paint, nets, colored sand, paint, rubber duckies, a book, and a set for your Dolly’s. Lyla also got a robe for herself and a matching one for her doll. You both also got a picnic table that has a nice umbrella! I can’t wait for more dining outside experiences with this table. You two loved it and crawled right onto it. After a breakfast of bunny pancakes, we had some fun with colored pasta! We also did another Easter Egg hunt out back with just the two of you. I was surprised but Lottie actually got right into the egg hunt! It was all over however when you discovered that there was candy in there! You stopped collecting and just ate. LOL. It was fun and Lyla you did great gathering them all up. After that we went to church and then to grandma’s for dinner and another egg hunt with the cousins.
