Dear Lottie,  you’re creeping as close as it gets to one baby girl.  Stop that.  For some reason I find myself saying all the time how much fun I think this stage is.  Maybe it’s not the stage as much as just that you’re so stinking adorable.  I find myself beaming with pride and my heart stretching with so much love for you all the time.  You’re so animated and I just love your facial expressions.  I love how excited you get over things.  I love how you communicate masterfully without even using words.  I love those rare and tender moments when you rest your head on my shoulder or reach out for me to grab (okay, the later isn’t rare at all).  Oh, and I just live for your tender and slobbery kisses.  You have such a sweet and easy disposition most of the time.  I’m so grateful for you babe.  You bring so much joy to my life.

-You say “bebe” for baby.  You just love your dolls and carry them or push them around in the stroller several times a day.  I think it’s so cute how you already understand and who love to them.

-You have 8 teeth!  When we went to the dentist for Lyla, he looked at you and said you were ahead of the game big time!

-You started fully walking on March 20th!  You were just under 1 years old when you completely stopped crawling and only walked.  I am quite impressed by this!!  You’ve always been so mobile though and I think the desire to keep up with your big sis, provided the motivation you needed!

-You will ONLY self feed.  If I try to feed you, you swat the food out of my hand or try to pull the utensils out of my hand.  Little independent child.

-You are getting a tiny bit better at using utensils but the majority of the food still ends up on the floor.

-You love to play talk on the cell phone.  You’ll grab your play ones or mine and put it to your ear and start squawking.  It cracks me up

-I think your imaginative play is quite impressive.  I also can’t believe how girly you already are.  Even dad has asked how you already learned to be so girly.  I think the answer is pretty obvious but it’s still so amazing.  You love dollys, wear a purse, and chat on a cell phone.

-You do the quack quack quack part on the “Three Little Ducks” song.  It’s so cute.  I just love your quack.

-You say “un uh” to things you don’t want.

-You’re kinda like a little Koala bear at times.  I’m the tree and you’re the bear Smile

-You’re sleeping about 10-12 hours a night and waking about 1-2 times a night.  It’s much better than beore.

-You love the hotdog dance on Mickey Mouse and start bobbing your head and squawking at the tune of the song.

-I think your hair is going to be curly like me and Lyla’s!  It’s just started going curly but still auburn

-  You love blankets and want then draped over your or you’ll snuggle them on and squeeze them.  It’s so cute.

-You’re not too into reading and just like opening and closing them over and over

-You will pull up my shirt when you want to nurse.  And put on your best whine face.  LOL

-You know when it’s bath time and will start trying to pull off your clothes.

Dear Lyla, you’re 30 months my little sweetie.  Right now you’re sitting next to me playing with your cousins.  Your perfectly platinum curly hair is glistening in the sunlight and your giggle is filling my soul with joy.  You are such a precious soul that I feel so lucky to be your mom.  You bring light to everything dark.  I treasure early mornings when our room is nice and cool from the fan and you and I snuggle.   I can’t believe this feeling I feel when I watch you get excited about something or experience something new for the first time.  You really know how to live and I just can’t help but feel proud.  People always remark how happy and polite you are.  Very few things get you down, even with those standard two-year old tantrums.  I can always count on you for going on adventures and being down to do anything new thing I want to do with you.  You are always down for anything and I love you for it.  I hope that you stay this way forever; that you always have the confidence to do what excites you, free of inhibition.  I hope you never forget that you can do anything you work for.  And that life really is better when you’re smiling.

-We make a smoothie for breakfast every morning. I’m pretty committed to it because it’s the only fruit and vegetables you get most days (I mix in spinach).  I’ve convinced you that it’s ice cream and you get so excited to eat your “cream” every morning.

-You’re a big fan of chips and ask for them as a snack all the time.  I wish it was more healthy

-You ask a lot of questions throughout the day.  I’m in love with this curious stage.  “What’s that”?  “What’d you say mommy"?”  “Where’s so and so"?”, etc

-You’ve been introduced to the game of “I spy”.  WE have so much fun playing it and it serves as a great distractor at times!

-You’re in a Princess phase.  I think it’s the most adorable thing ever.  You LOVE Belle and Ariel and get so excited when you spot them.  You also want to own all things Princess

-The other day when dad was home I could tell you were bored (because we do less playing when Dad is there).  Pretty soon you came to me and asked “I do beans in the sensory bin”.  AHHH!  It did me proud.  Even though we were trying to clean up I couldn’t say no!  You also said you wanted to decorate an egg

-Any time something doesn’t work right or do what you want it to you say, “It’s no workin right!”.  LOL

-While please IS the magic word, you think “please” gets you ANYTHING!.  LOL

-When you’re mad at me or you think we’re mad (sometimes we’re just talking passionately) you say “hey you!” with such attitude.  Cracks me up.

-You also get frustrated with me at times, almost like a teenager would.  You say “moooooom!” all exasperated like.

-You just love dance still and ask if it’s dance say almost every day.  Your favorite move is arabesque.  You’ll say it, and then do the move.  LOL

-You’ve been very interested in the violin every since I played in church.  You always ask if we’ll buy you one.  Some day baby

-You haven’t been napping for a few months now.  If on the off chance you fall asleep, you won’t fall asleep til 12 or 1am!  It’s killer

-You LOVE Mickey and Minnie.

-You ask me to “say ahhh” when I have something in my mouth that you want like gum

-You love the book “green eggs and ham”.  Actually, you just love Dr. Seuss.  We have this fun game where I’ll ask you if you like them in ___ and you will get so mad and say “NOOO!” and then giggle.  It’s so silly

-You had your first ear infection this month.  You got the stomach flu and a cold all at the same time.  It was so sad because you and Lottie were knocked OUT.  You slept for days.

-You’re officially POTTY TRAINED!!!  It went pretty smoothly.  I just showed you a baby going potty and then let you learn.  You finally figured out that peeing and poopin on yourself isn’t so desirable.  Praise was enough of a reinforcer.  It took about two weeks but since you’ve done pretty well.

-You’re so cute when you ask questions.  You have the cutest inquisitive state.

-You love shopping.  All I have to do is say “lets go shopping” and you head for the door

-You say “I’m sexy and I know it”.  LOL

-You already know to ask me about certain things

-You challenge me on things now.  It’s impressive your confidence.  If I tell you it’s a camel and you disagree, you’ll challenge me!

-If you like something like snuggling in a blanket you’ll say “that’s nice”

-You know The Very Hungary Caterpillar Book by heart.  The whole dang thing

-The other day it started raining so hard and we had the windshield wipers one.  You said “mom, the car is swimming!”

-In this Mickey book we have it’s kind of suspenseful so you skip ahead!  LOL

-You love lining your boys up

-You ask me things like “when I wake up, it’s music class?”

-You’ve become very verbal.  It’s so fun interacting with you that way

-One day you asked if we could go to the park but I said it was too cold.  You say, “we go to another park then?”.  I said not baby it will be cold there too.  Your reply?  “We bring a lankey”.  LOL

-You just LOVE riding in the truck with daddy

-One of my new favorite things to do is to grab a giant stack of books and go sit in the big chair for days.  It’s so fun.
