Dear Lyla, we celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday by buying the book “the Lorax” and by making a Trufulla Forest! Since the movie “The Lorax” was coming out soon so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to introduce you into the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. And Oh how you’ve embarrassed it. There is just something magical about Dr. Seuss. It’s really been the only book that you will just look at the pictures on your own. You say “the onceler” with suspense and surprise. You say the “Yorax” with surprise and joy. You say “a need” [thneed]with disgust. It gives me so much joy to watch you read this book. IT IS SO ADORABLE!!! SO anyway we gathered these sticks from the bushes across the street and you made the most beautiful little truffula forest. It was so cool because I just laid the sticks on the table along with a paper plate with a layer of playdoh. I said nothing but you went right to work jabbing the sticks into the play doh. You’re so smart! I’m so impressed.
