.Snow Globe.
One of my favorite things to do is to set out all the supplies in clear cups and just leave everything sitting out on the table and wait for you to see them. You’re always on my heels all day so it doesn’t take too long, but sometimes I sneak them on there and it takes 20 minutes or so before you see them. You invariably squeal and say “ohh!” or “okay!” and start climbing on the chair. You then work diligently filling your jar with everything of your choice. It bring to mind the saying “a child’s play is their work, and their work is their play”. I love this watching you relish your work once you’re all done and the lid is screwed on tight. We also introduces baby scissors to this activity! You LOVE cutting things and I’ve always given you a lot of confidence and trust in this area. We took a green beaded necklace and let you cut the beads off one by one. It was a little tedious because I had to hold the necklace in place while you cut each individual bead (jostling Lottie at the same time), but you LOVED it so much and felt so much pride each time you cut it, so it was worth it. You kept saying “I did it!”
.Rainbows.
You definitely learned about rainbows this month. I love teaching you things and then seeing you identify them in our everyday world. I originally thought I would cut out rainbows in various colors and have you match the pom poms to the color or the rainbow. You however showed no interest in this and I try to stick to my rule to not let there be any wrongs during our play, so I went with it (even though I didn’t want to!!!). LOL. This ended up being REALLY fun activity though. You LOVE the collage tray and picking various items to adorn your masterpieces. You put glitter, tiny shamrocks, gold/green coins, pom poms and rolos all over them.
.Shamrock Playdoh.
You also learned all about Shamrocks. You say it so cutely and get so excited every time you see a Shamrock. It was really fun watching you get so excited every time you brought a Shamrock to life!
.Leprechaun.
Yet another term your learned this month. Lehricahn is how you’d say it. I gave you the parts an you gave this one a face. You had such a silly giggle when we hung him on the wall. AT first I wasn’t sure why but I quickly figured it out! You thought he was looking at you!! LOL 1,000 times over. I figured it out because one night we were sitting on the couch and I looked over at him and said “stop looking at me Leprechaun!”. You’re such a silly girl.
.Salt Dough Clover Ornaments.
You LOVED making these last time we did it, so we made them again for St. Patty’s. We made them one day and then invited Addie down to paint them a few days later. I didn’t get any pictures of the cooking process, but it’s kind of like baking cookies! You guys did an awesome job painting them!
.Shamrock Collages.
Of course we had to do another collage! We did this in a few steps…cut the Shamrock, paint them, and then decorate them. As always you LOVED this activity and did such a great job decorating them. ..and oh the glitter!
.Making GREEN!.
You LOVE pouring things so what could be better than pouring colored water to make the color GREEN?! You wanted to do this a zillion times so we dumped the concoction out several times and started over. Somehow this lead to a jungle bath for you animals. Of course then we used the tube to make a water slide for the animals. Then we started blowing water through the tube which made for lots of fun and lots of mess. I love activities that start somewhere and end somewhere else entirely. My little baby bong blower
.Rainbow Sponge Painting.
This ended up being a lot of fun. I just put a line of paint blobs on a piece of paper and then handed you the sponge. You knew right what to do. You didn’t quit with just the paper, you went all over the newspaper. It was lots of fun
.Glue Art.
This has become a standby with every season and holiday. You rock the glue and do really well pouring it. Once the glue has dried you always feel so much pride seeing them and hanging them on wall.
.Eat Delicious GREEN food.
You helped me make these delicious green food
St. Patty’s Sensory Bin
Lottie got to join in this fun too!! You both LOVED digging around in all this green grass to find treasures. This made or a lot of fun and a lot of mess for several weeks. I still find random green grass all over the house!
